Frequently Asked Questions

Are the P&P vacation events private?
Pirates & Paradise – a pirate themed event vacation is open to anyone and everyone who wants to enjoy a great time with a great group of people in a great location. Pirate or not – you’re most welcome!
How much is the deposit?
The deposits vary by destination and type of trip.  You can expect to make a deposit of anywhere from $50 to $400 per person depending on the resort/vacation.
Are Deposits refundable?
100% of your deposit is fully credited to your vacation.  Most times they are 100% refundable if your plans are cancelled by a certain date set by the resort.  In some cases (of smaller deposits) they are not refundable as they are applied to administrative costs.
Can I Make Payments?
Yes, After you make our initial deposits you can make payments on the vacation until the final payment is due, usually 90 days before the event!
What are the deadlines?
Deadlines for booking and payments are set by the Cruise line or resort company.  Usually 90 days before the event the final payment is due.  Usually there is NO deadline to join if there is space available, but you may expect to pay in full.
Do I need a passport?
Yes, your passport should be valid for six months AFTER the date of your return.
Can I get my own room?
Yes, you can get your own room – the price is dependent on your room category and because the pricing is based mostly on double occupancy you can expect to pay more per person with one in the room than with two – sometimes it is actually the two person rate with no discount for one person in the room.  This is set by the resort/cruise line.
What if I need a room mate?
Please contact me and I will try to connect you with another who is looking for a roommate as well. byrda@piratesandparadise.com or 772-882-5006
What is your refund policy?
Refund policies are set by the resort or cruise line.  It is usually done on a specific timeline – if you feel you need to cancel and do so early enough most offer 100% refund.  If you cancel 2 weeks before the trip you can expect to lose all monies you have paid towards your vacation.
What about travel insurance?
Travel insurance is highly recommended.  Please ask me for a quote.  Travel Insurance covers many more things than you may think – including, in some policies, emergency medical while you are on vacation.  Please ask for more details
What is the weapons policy in regards to garb?
We do NOT recommend bringing any of your weaponry – real or replica – it WILL get confiscated by the customs authorities at our destination.

A personal note from the owner of Barefoot Times Travel – Our preferred agency and host of Pirates & Paradise!

 Hello Everyone!

Many of you already know me, I am Byrda Paradise, my given name is Louise Deck.  I started Pirates & Paradise out of the desire to vacation in the Caribbean with a group of like minded people.  Being a Rennaissance Festival fan as well as a Pirates of the Caribbean fan, I put them together.   I worked with another agency for a few years and after my  most successful trip ever – Treasure Islands 2017, I was encouraged to ‘go out on my own’.  That’s when Barefoot Times Travel was born!

I handle more than just the pirate trip and have helped several groups enjoy adventure sailing with Star Clippers and Celestial Cruises.

There’s so much more, but let’s connect and we can talk.  What’s your bucket list destination?
